Nobody's asking why Arnold Schwarzenegger has a newsletter.

They're too busy reading it.

  • Anthropic hands Amazon $100 billion to keep Claude running

  • Claude Design, the chat window that replaces your design team (Quick Guide)

AI News

Anthropic just wrote Amazon a $100 billion check to keep Claude's compute running. The deal locks in a decade of AWS capacity in exchange for up to $25 billion of fresh investment from Amazon, on top of the $8 billion already in. For context, OpenAI has committed over $1.4 trillion to similar chip deals in the past twelve months, and Amazon signed a $50 billion compute agreement with OpenAI just two months ago. Anthropic says run-rate revenue is now $30 billion, up from $9 billion at the end of 2025.

SpaceX secured an option to buy Cursor for $60 billion later this year, or pay $10 billion for the joint work if it walks. SpaceX is routing Cursor's developer base onto its Colossus supercomputer, and two senior Cursor engineers already jumped to xAI last month. Cursor was a $2.5 billion company in January 2025 and is now in talks for a $50 billion round led by a16z, Nvidia, and Thrive. Musk is consolidating AI operations ahead of a SpaceX IPO.

Claude Design launched last Friday and took a chunk out of the design software stack by Monday. Figma's secondary-market shares dropped 7 percent in hours, Adobe shed 1.5 percent. The product is a chat-based design agent that takes a prompt, a Figma file, a GitHub repo, or a screenshot and builds editable layouts with real component logic. It exports to PDF, PowerPoint, Canva, or HTML, or hands off to Claude Code for engineers. Every PM and founder just got a designer in a chat window.

A Quick Claude Design Guide

Anthropic's new design agent turns a chat window into an on-brand design team that exports straight to Figma, PowerPoint, PDF, or HTML.

How to get real work out of it on day one:

  1. Go to claude.ai/design. Default on for Pro, Max, and Team accounts.

  2. Feed it your brand. Drop a Figma file, GitHub repo, or screenshots so Claude respects your type, colors, and component system.

  3. Parallelize. Run separate threads for the investor deck, landing page, and social assets at the same time.

  4. Comment, don't re-prompt. Click any element and leave an inline note like "tighter spacing, bolder headline."

  5. Hit "package for Claude Code" when a design is ready to hand off to engineers.

  6. Export to PDF, PowerPoint, Canva, or HTML when you need to ship.

Pro tip: Skip step 2 and your output will look like every other AI-generated slide deck on LinkedIn. Feed it real brand assets every time, before you write a single prompt.

That's it for this week. See you next Friday.
